Another scenic flight with serious up and down drafts over mountainous terrain, cruising at 16,000 feet. Circling after departure for save climb to MSA. IMC and rain just before Anchorage, ILS approach.
PANC - PACD, Anchorage to Cold Bay, 591 nm
Departure in rain. Flight mostly in IMC. Light to moderate rime ice at 16,000, descended to 14,000 via 13,000. ILS approach into Cold Bay.

After departure circling over bay to reach MSA, then mostly in VMC with some nice views. RNAV approach into Adak.
